b.creative challenge, an international competition designed to encourage young artists and cultural and creative entrepreneurs to work for social innovation, is open.
The purpose of the b.creative challenge is to support artists and cultural and creative entrepreneurs, and to encourage collaborations between them with a view to addressing various pressing social issues, such as environmental protection, mental and physical well-being, new food and sustainable agriculture, social cohesion, mobility, access to education, digital literacy, the fight against poverty and other topics.
The competition is open to young creative and/or cultural entrepreneurs and young artists, authors and performers under 40 years old, working in visual arts, advertising, architecture, crafts, design, fashion, film and video, gastronomy, music, publishing, radio and television, computer games and performing arts.
The winning application will be awarded one year of incubation (including accommodation, support for visa application and mentoring), and media and marketing exposure through the Creative Tracks project or Creative Europe. The team behind the winning application will receive two return tickets to and accommodation for the final Creative Tracks conference in Asia (Q4, 2017) as well as professional advice and mentoring.
To participate in the b.creative challenge, please send a written proposal to [email protected]. The document, to be written in English and not to exceed 10 pages (no appendix allowed), should include:
- a description of the idea, the rationale behind the project, cross-sectorial aspects, target audiences, key activities, key resources and partners, and a financial plan and needs;
- a CV for each team member and a short description of the relationship between the applicants.
You should also send a video describing your idea. It must not be longer than 2 minutes and must not exceed 100 MB. It must be uploaded by 28 February 2017 to the ‘Ideation Labs’ section of the Creative Tracks platform.
The submission deadline is 28 February 2017.
Ten projects will be shortlisted by 20 March 2017. They will be submitted to an international jury of experts in art and cultural and creative entrepreneurship. The winning applicant will be announced by 1 May 2017.
