Freedom of Artistic Expression Programme Officer. Freemuse is seeking qualified candidates for the above position. The Programme Officer will be hosted by a Freemuse network partner in Cairo, Egypt Objectives/Tasks: The PO shall on behalf of Freemuse document, monitor and analyze violations of artists’ rights to Freedom of Expression in MENA. The PO shall further advocate artists rights to freedom of expression in regard to cultural and artist Civil Society Organisations and human rights – and Freedom of Expression Organisations in the region. The work includes writing articles and analytical reports to Freemuse. Requirements: The candidate must have at least 2-3 years previous, documented and qualified work experience from at least three of the following fields: • Human Rights studies /International Studies/Political Science /Law • Research / Journalism • Monitoring/ reporting/ • Cultural production • Advocacy Language and writing skills: Fluent in Arabic and English. French at good level is an advantage. Technical skills: Word, Excel at professional level. Skills of photography or video recording are a plus. Familiarity with wordpress and web editing an advantage. The candidate must have good communicating skills, experience from networking, be flexible and able to adjust to different working environments and able to travel in the region The candidate must be reliable, open minded, acquainted with popular culture in MENA, and be able to keep deadlines. Previous experience with fundraising and reporting to donors an asset. Experience with project and budget management essential.
