The WomenCinemakers magazine is now accepting submissions from female filmmakers, directors and producers for its new annual showcase. The WomenCinemakers magazine is now accepting submissions from female filmmakers, directors and producers for its new annual showcase. Women producers, writers and directors from around the world will have the opportunity to present their films to a broad, English-reading audience.

With a mixture of newcomers and established film professionals, WomenCinemakers’ annual anthologies have featured more than 100 artists over the years, with many of them competing at international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin and Venice.

WomenCinemakers is looking for shorts, documentaries and feature films written, directed or produced by women. Non-English-language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted. Films can be entered within four categories: independent cinema, documentary, dance video and experimental cinema. 

To submit a film, please fill in the online form here, and include a link to the film and a short description or synopsis of the movie.

There is no entry fee.

The submission deadline is 28 February 2017.

Since 2012, WomenCinemakers has offered its over 300,000 readers an insight into critically acclaimed and innovative films directed by women, supporting both emerging and established auteurs. WomenCinemakers opens up a new space for women directors to share their powerful films and ideas, encouraging mutual exchange where the filmmakers and critics can converge to discuss the becoming of the film industry. The magazine features interviews and essays, and reports from international film festivals such as Cannes and Berlin, with a special look at female artists and professionals embracing leading roles both in front of and behind the camera.
