A key cinema event in Morocco and on the international stage, the Marrakech International Film Festival brings together important figures from the world of the arts, culture and the media. Created in 2001, it seeks to unearth new talents by presenting feature films of quality; to increase the Moroccan audience for international cinema; to celebrate the cinema of the past, present and future through retrospectives, tributes and a “carte blanche” given to leading figures of cinema; and to provide a relaxed and comfortable setting for useful contact between Moroccan and foreign industry players, in the renowned resort of Marrakech.
