Participation of Racines to conferences and meetings, in Morocco and internationally

On December 21st 2016, our Rwandan partner, the Ishyo Arts Center, organised its first preparatory meeting in Kigali for the launch of its National Action Plan for Arts and Culture in Rwanda. Racines association, represented by Dounia Benslimane, and the organisation Nhimbe Trust, reprensented by Joshua Nyapimbi, were invited to share their experiences and their work on cultural policies in Morocco and Zimbabwe. Many artists, cultural actors and professionals attended the meeting. Carole Karemera, the executive director of the Ishyo Arts Center, presented the different steps of the project which should lead very soon to the organisation of the « Etats Généraux de la Culture » in Rwanda. We wish this initiative fair winds…

  • The LaSalle Collège Campus organised, in partnership with the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce et de Management, a debate to raise young people’s awareness about the importance of culture. Many Moroccan and foreign cultural professionnals attended the meeting. With the participation of Aicha Nouri, Project officer at Racines. The meeting took place on Wednesday December 27th 2017 at the LaSalle Collège in Casablanca.

 

  • For the 25th anniversary of Abderrahim Bouabid’s death, the Abderrahim Bouabid Foundation organised a round table about « Morals, civicism and citizenship » with the participation of Aadel Essaadani, Racines’ general coordinator. The discussion took place on Friday January 6th 2017 at the BNRM in Rabat in the presence of many Moroccan intellectuals, thinkers and politicians.

 

 

  • A meeting with Italian actors of the “Con.Me – Contemporaneo Mediterraneo” network was held on Saturday 4th February 2017, at the national headquarters of the Italian association ‘’ARCI’’, in Rome. The theme of discussion was: “Art and education for the future of the Mediterranean”. Racines was invited to share its experience in Morocco and Africa on training, capacity building and artistic and popular education, as well as presenting  its various actions for citizenship, democracy, accountability and cultural policies.
