Aadel Essaadani, Racines’ general coordinator at a conference at H.E.M | Rabat

H.E.M Rabat received on December 1st 2016 Aadel Essaadani, Racines’ general coordinator, as part of the “Lost stars“ conference on the theme of culture in Morocco. The problematic of the conference was: “Is the Moroccan environment in favor of the development of culture?“. The debate was about Moroccan cultural manifestations, including festivals, their financing and the role they’re playing in the development of the cultural sector in Morocco.

Genshagen foundation for civil rights, recognized as an organization of public utility, and the Observatory of Cultural Policies of Grenoble organized a seminary entitled “New European citizens. On the threshold of the future: Educating on interculturality and diversity through arts“ on November 15th, 16th and 17th 2016 at Genshagen Castle (Germany). This seminary hosted different cultural actors, researchers and representatives of cultural organizations from France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Bulgaria and Morocco on the theme of diversity and interculturality, while making reference to current developments of artistic and cultural education in these countries.

Aadel Essaadani, Racines’ general coordinator, facilitated a capacity building workshop in the African cultural sector | Bamako (Mali)
The International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (F.I.C.D.C) and the Malian Coalition for cultural diversity, with the support of the “Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie”, organized a capacity building workshop in Bamako from 13th to 16th November 2016, on the following themes: copyright and related rights, governance of organizations, the status of the artist, UNESCO’s convention 2005…Aadel Essaadani facilitated the workshop on : “The methodology of advocacy for the implementation of cultural policies and the promotion of diversity and cultural expression“, with the participation of cultural operators from various countries of French-speaking Africa (Benin, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Tchad, Togo …).

Mehdi Azdem, Racines’ general director, participated to a workshop on cultural policies | Tunis
The tri-national research workshop on: “Rethinking cultural policy and international relations“ was organised by Hildesheim University (Germany). It took place in Tunis from November 22nd to 28th, 2016.  This workshop was mainly addressed to student researchers from German, Moroccan and Tunisian universities, and who particularly reflect on cultural policies. Mehdi Azdem presented the methodology, the overview and the recommendations of cultural policies in Morocco, elaborated in the frame of “Etats Généraux de la Culture au Maroc“.

Aadel Esaadani, attended the 2016 edition of Elevate Festival | Graz (Austria)

The 2016 edition of Elevate festival took place from 20th to 23th Octobre 2016 in Graz (Austria). Aadel Essaadani was invited to the forum organized by “We are Europe” collective, on political activism and actual social transformations, in Europe and its neighbooring countries. He participated to a panel intitled : “Five years after the Arab Spring : Reinventing a common ground for Europe and Mediterranean countries”.
