Racines is organizing the second edition of “Les Etats Généraux de la Culture” in Morocco at La Fabrique Culturelle des Anciens Abattoirs, in Casablanca from 10 to 12 November 2016.

This year’s edition is held in partnership with Théâtre Nomade, which celebrates its 10th anniversary!

The artistic program includes concerts (jazz, fusion, raï and electronic music), theater, exhibitions, circus, parkour, graffiti …

The event will be organized with the participation of Racines’ partners and associations from the 12 regions of Morocco, that will present their activities and products at “So9 Racines” as well as regional artistic performances of music, theater, contemporary art exhibition, installations …

During this edition, Racines will present the results of its work on cultural policies in Morocco (cultural mapping and a survey on the cultural practices of  Moroccans), in terms of evaluation and recommendations; and reopen the debate on La Fabrique Culturelle des Anciens Abattoirs of Casablanca as a public space for culture.

We are also inviting many cultural actors from Africa, the Middle East and Europe to discuss and share experiences on cultural policies, freedom of artistic expression, cultural entrepreneurship …

The entire event will be open to the public and is taking a festive and convivial aspect, for all the citizens of Casablanca.
